Sign The Body Shop’s Petition!

August 8, 2010

Get InvolvedAfter a five-month petition signature collection effort, The Body Shop will present the petition signatures to an assembly at the United Nations, as well as to various lawmakers around the country.  Globally, The Body Shop has set a goal of 10 million signatures, and here in the United States, Canada and Mexico, they plan to smash our target of 1.5 million. They are already well on our way, with more than 700,000 signees in less than three weeks! Through the sale of Soft Hands Kind Heart hand creams and Bags for Life, The Body Shop has already raised 1.5 million dollars to help trafficking victims through protection, prevention and rehabilitation programs.  All of the net proceeds go directly to our campaign partners, The Somaly Mam Foundation and ECPAT USA.  This petition is just another step to raise attention to the fact that thousands of women and children fall prey to sex trafficking annually.

Sign the petition here! Or click here to learn how to spread the word via Facebook, e-mail, Twitter, etc.

Any idea how they integrated Flickr and a petition to enable that interactive photo collage? It’s cool, but I’d like to figure out how they are actually powering it…

Hmmm… not sure. I would definitely ask them and see what they say! It’s a pretty cool feature.
