Kids’ Photography for Sale!

August 10, 2011

Our Kids

The SOLD Project is proud to present the phenomenal artwork of our students, in partnership with San Francisco art gallery Studio Unfiltered, which was recently founded by SOLD President Rachel Carey. The gallery hosted the grand opening of its first exhibit on August 6th, featuring our Thai kids’ photography in the exhibit Kids + Cameras.

Original photography by Dream, age 14. She is in 8th grade and hopes to be a nurse one day.

In May 2011, professional photographers Robby Barthelmess and Courtney Owen flew to Thailand with ten Nikon SLR cameras in tow to teach The SOLD Project students the art of photography. After three days of training and hours of wandering the villages, these are the results. You’ll get a glimpse into a day in the life of a child in Northern Thailand through their images. Some of the photography was previously featured at an art gallery in northern Thailand called Prataap Jai.

Visit thesoldproject.storenvy.com to purchase the incredible results of this first-ever photography project. The prints cost $30 – $60 and are printed on Matte Fuji Crystal Archive Type II Paper, which produces prints that stay beautiful over time and resist fading for generations.

100 percent of the proceeds help to fund educational, art, and after-school programs at our Resource Center in Chiang Rai. The kids help decide how the proceeds from their work will benefit various projects and programs.
