Winter Wonderland in Thailand
December 14, 2011
When all was quiet, and no one was looking, and all the children had abandoned their play, elves stole into the classroom, and strung up a winter wonderland, snowy, delicate, and white.
Kelly, one of our volunteer English teachers, upon seeing the elves’ work, remarked that it was lovely to hang such things because, when she was a kid, she always felt like it was magical when you had to look up at something. There was something powerful in that simple act, looking up. And somehow that feeling of magic fades over the years, perhaps because we stopped looking up.
Over the winter holidays, we hope you find occasion to look up.
